review 1: A pretty good thriller! A crazy doctor is trying to impress the medical field, and is using innocent, live victims for his research! Detective Rizzo chases him while trying to process her own trauma at the hands of a serial killer. I read this quickly, gobbling up the action and anxious to see what happened next! I only wish I could understand why the police in this book didn't look at cardio surgeons in the area first. Weird. And I was not a fan of the last chapter either. Still, a good, solid thriller for the summer!
review 2: Better than the first Sami Rizzo book. Overall the writing is average and the plot line is above average. It was fun as a doctor to read this book about the evil surgeon despite there being multiple inaccuracies about medical tec
... morehniques and technology. This would be a great book for a long flight. One thing that did drive me a little crazy was the multiple repeats of lines from the "never die quietly" book. Sami is reported to be an amazing detective but I still felt like she was just in the right place at the right time as she didn't seem to be doing too much incredible sleuthing to solve the cases. Am I wrong here fellow mystery readers? less

I found much of it predictable but will say the last 30% was worth my sticking with it.
