review 1: Saffron Fletcher is a druid Seer, who has visions of the future. Being rescued by the Warriors with gods inside them and fellow druids, from the dungeon below evil druid Declan Wallace's estate, leaves Saffron dealing with the fallout of all the tortures Declan heaped upon her. When powerful druid Dani restores Saffrons sight, she is overjoyed to see again after 3 years of darkness...and to finally gaze on the warrior who rescued her, reawakens her gladness and joy in life. With the urge to always be there for her, Camdyn hides the fact that he was married and lost his wife to old age because warriors are immortal. Camdyn does not want to love Saffron and be hurt again by losing her, but Saffron seems to have more control of her fear when Camdyn is closest to her. Wh... moreile finally going to awaken the evil Dierdra's twin Laria, Camdyn and Saffron are cut off from the others and grow close enough to be thought of as a couple. But still Camdyn pulls away. With the final showdown imminent love should be the last thing on anyones minds...but there is a saying that love makes us stronger. Could this be the case with Saffron and Camdyn? And will everyone walk away from the upcoming battle? Time will tell!
review 2: 3.75 starsI loved the love story of Saffron and Camdyn, the unity of the MacLeod's members, and the exciting plot. Why 3.75 stars, even when my heart ached for Camdyn? maybe that's why, it felt a bit drawn out, some might argued, rightly so because both of them were tortured but it felt like they're doing the cha-cha, 1 step forward, 3 steps back, and their song kept going and going and going. Granted the love scenes were hot as sin but still, the doubting, the trusting, the painful past needed to be confronted, dealt with and moved on...not lasting 90% of the book. That said, lots of excitement, like Indiana Jones excitement and fun. I loved Saffron's humor and wits. I'm moving onto the next read and loving it bc I loved the characters, the storyline and the excitement of what's to come! less
