review 1: Review: Charlie and Carlitos are cousins who live in different countries. Charlie lives in America while Carlitos lives in Mexico. The boys have never met, but they communicate and form a bond by constantly writing letters to each other. In their letters, they both talk about the traditions, games, and food that are unique to the country they live in. Finally, they both decide that they should visit each other to meet each other and see each other’s way of living. Write an Original Recommendation: I think kindergarten and first grade would really enjoy this book. It has beautiful illustrations and I think they could relate to the book because both boys in the book are around the same age. The book would be great to use when learning about the Mexican culture because it u... moreses many words and talks about and shows many pictures from their culture. review 2: I really liked this book because I can relate to it. Knowing that this book has spanish contents and talks about a place in Mexico brings some sort of comfort to me. This book talks about two cousins who write back and forth to each other. One write how life is in the city while the other writes about how life is in Mexico. Charlie takes the subway to school and Carlitos rides his bike. I enjoyed read spanish words that were introduced in the text. It really gets the reader to learn about the language and culture. Great book for 3-5 grades. less
