review 1: I first discovered Eden Butler when I read her debut novel, Chasing Serenity. From that moment, I have devoured every single book she has written. Her writing style is captivating and her characters are simply irresistible! When I read Thin Love, which is the first book in her Thin Love series, I fell in love with Kona and his ''Wildcat''. These two characters together are FIRE! They are intense and their journey to finding their way back to each other was a page-turning reading escape! When I heard that they were getting a novella, I was extremely happy! In My Beloved, we get to read what really happened before Keira and Kona tied the knot. They travel to paradise to start their HEA, but trouble is lurking in the shadows for the happy couple. Kona's popularity steals the s... morepotlight and Keira is feeling it big time! She loves Kona with all her heart and soul, but she has limits when it comes to their private life. Those limits are about to get tested when lies and secrets stars causing trouble for their relationship.I really enjoyed this novella! Many times, after I finish reading a book, I want more of the characters and their story. It's not often that I get to see what happens before or after their HEA. It's such a precious gift to us readers! Planning a wedding is already stressful. Add in the extra stress of a popular fiancé's career and old insecurities coming back to haunt you, and you have a mega stressful journey down the aisle! Keira and Kona have been through a lot to find their HEA, and in My Beloved, we can see how strong their love is for each other. They have made mistakes in the past, and are still making some, but the thing about making mistakes is that you LEARN from them. It's easy to relate to their story and what they are living. Their passionate love story gets a well-deserved HEA.In this book, we also get to know Ramson, which is Keira and Kona's son, a bit better. I'm so happy we got some more scenes with him. At the end of this novella we get a little surprise that totally made my day! I can't wait to read about his journey! I give, My Beloved, by Eden Butler 4.5 ardent, sexy, love-conquers-all stars!
review 2: No relationship worth having comes easy.No happily ever after occurs without hard work.No connection that spans decades can remain unscathed, especially with such dominant personalities.Keira and Kona’s bond has fractured and mended, but the baggage of the past has not been completely wiped away, preventing Keira from totally letting go and not stopping herself from thinking about running from the only man who has owned her heart when things get a bit too hard.My Beloved takes readers on Keira and Kona’s journey between their reunion and their happily ever after that occurs in the Epilogue of Thin Love. Kona has big plans for his “always,” which begins with a huge wedding to celebrate with his family the love that consumes him and makes him a better man. He wants to give Keira everything she’s ever desired, but he’s having a hard time juggling everything when they head back to his homeland of Hawaii. His family, his fans, and his stardom seem to be a bit much for Keira while Kona is enthralled with all of the attention and couldn’t be happier. The quest for the spotlight was a concern while they were together 10 years ago, and for Keira, it’s still an issue – one that Kona doesn’t seem to fully understand. But Kona is persistent and he proves himself to his beloved, and even though there are more than a few bumps in the road, Keira and Kona’s thick love will see them through to their union as husband and wife. It may not be picture perfect, but it’s Keira and Kona, and they’re both bossy, stubborn, and hot headed. They don’t make anything easy, but they’ll fight with their heart and soul for the right person…for the right kind of love – the kind that’s thick enough to withstand separation, heartbreak, and secrets.I’m so glad that Eden Butler takes readers back to Keira and Kona’s journey and gives us a sneak peek at what’s to come for their son, Ransom. Their story has stayed with me long after I finished Thin Love, and I was instantly caught up again as soon as I began My Beloved. The novella is a beautiful way to illustrate the depth of Keira and Kona’s love and offer a few more glimpses into how true and rare a love like theirs really is.A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.5 poison apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews) less
