review 1: The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat is a wonderful, heartwarming story. Combining humour, the supernatural and serious subject matter, such as philandering husbands, cancer and teenage pregnancy, I laughed and I felt sad for the characters involved.Set in America from the 1960s until the present day, the novel follows the lives of three friends, known collectively as The Supremes, from childhood to later life. With an understanding of the racial tension that existed alongside the emergence of modernity in the 60s, Edward Kelsey Moore is an exciting new talent. It takes great skill to combine so much in one novel and for it to seem so effortless. I know little of the era and of the location, but the author created such a strong sense of place that I felt I understood. Wh... moreen you want to immerse yourself in a novel that you don't want to end, I thoroughly recommend The Supremes. It was a delight to read.
review 2: This book was the first book since a fault in our stars to affect me in such a way the book was funny and sad - made me laugh out loud and cry at times but it is now one of my all time favourites. This book should be made in a film as it would be simply amazing to watch it on a big screen. The story itself was amazing and I loved the going back and forth from present day to the older days, the characters were special and unique in their own ways and was amazing to read in their own viewpoints! No doubt it had to be said this is one of the best books I have ever read and it had to be five stars easily less
