review 1: I was really looking forward to Paris after finding London and New York to be great reads. While Paris is a good read it wasn't as good as the others. Without a linear structure I found I had to keep returning to the family tree info to place the characters - which was a little bit annoying. I cannot believe Paris' history is less interesting than that of London or New York, but Edward Rutherfurd makes it seem so.
review 2: Eight hundred pages to cover eight hundred years --- Rutherford at his finest. Six (seven?) families intertwining through all the highlights in Paris history makes for fun reading and either some great memories of what the reader might have already enjoyed --- or some anticipation for someone who is ready to visit Paris.
