review 1: This book was just flat out amazing!!!! These days it seems like every YA paranormal is the same story told in a different way.... Well that is not the case with Spirit Legacy! It is original, and enthralling, and just everything you crave and never seem to find anymore! If I could post a virtual billboard for everyone on Goodreads I would, that is how much I loved is book, and think people truly need to be told about it. The characters are fresh and new, and are so mysterious. You won't be able to guess the ending 20% in like most other paranormal books, and you will be doing everything in your power to get #2 as fast as humanly possible! Seriously, READ THIS SERIES!!
review 2: Although classified as a young adult novel, this book really appealed to me, despi... morete being in a genre I am not interested in. Being from the Boston area, I loved the area references. I am thinking St. Matthews is probably Holy Cross, the author's alma mater. I loved her language choice and character development. It took me a little while to get into it, and see where she would take the story. It reminded me of the movie the Sixth Sense, and I was expecting the characters to have unresolved issues. She went in a different direction, with a surprising climax. The ending set the scene for the next book in the trilogy. This book would make a great choice for a high school reading list, a movie, or just a fun read. less
