review 1: Avery and Nora were friends when they were in elementary school, but the only thing they had in common when high school came around was that they were adopted. Right before Nora commits suicide she confronts Avery at a party and told her she tried to find her birth mother but failed, but urged Avery to keep trying. After Nora commits suicide, Avery is a mess. She starts thinking about her real birth mother even though she was never interested in finding her before. She also really wants to get into Duke and she can't think of a better senior project than finding her birth mother in memory of her friend Nora. Will she find her Mom? Will she get into Duke and if she doesn't will her adopted parents be upset? This is a pretty interesting book. I would like to read mor... moree books by this author.
review 2: Avery is your typical popular cheerleader with typical high school problems when something happens with a former friend that turns her life on its head and sends her looking for the birth mother she never knew. I was hoping for more with this book. I had issues with Avery's likability, I thought most of the plot was extremely predictable, and Brody's character wasn't used to his full potential. It was a nice enough story, though, and I will probably purchase it for the library. less

a really good young adult book about trying to find out who you are and where you belong.
