A Haunted Guesthouse Mystery
review 1: This is really between 4 and 5 stars for me. In books 2-4 of the series, the author did a much better job of giving new readers past details about Alison. In this 5th book, there were just too many paragraphs in a row doing the background. It was annoying and slightly boring to a person who had read the past books. However, the rest of the book was very entertaining and creative! Those ghostly characters are so important to the Haunted Guesthouse and Josh has real possibilities!
review 2: One of my favorites in this series. Again, not a deep read but a fun cozy mystery. With the references to the Jersey Shore and local communities after Superstorm Sandy, I wondered if the author just cranked out the book that fast or if he went back and worked it in during th
... moree editing process. I imagine it is likely the later, but it was done well, it didn't feel at all out of place. Mystery was interesting and fun. I have a small issue with one thing that happened at the end, but it isn't that big of a thing, and it isn't like gripes I've had about how the author writes conflict between Allison and Maxie in the past. Fun quick enjoyable read. less
