review 1: Este livro prometia imenso - um filme de terror cuja visualização leva os espectadores à loucura e à morte. Infelizmente se a ideia base é boa, a escrita não o é. As autoras não se conseguem decidir se estão a escrever uma comédia ou um livro de terror. Em quase todas as situações há injecções de humor quase a "martelo", com críticas constantes a toda o estilo de vida de Hollywood e à maneira como os grandes estúdios se comportam. O livro acaba por se transformar numa salgalhada de piadas (o leitor quase que imagina as autoras a piscarem o olho uma à outra e a rirem-se com o que escreveram) com muito sangue, druidas e um rolo de fita de filme assassino. Não percam tempo com este.
review 2: I loved the humor in this book. Made me laugh aloud ... morea few times. I also loved all the horror movie monsters that showed up. The main character, Derek, is gruff but likeable. And Mitchell is a humorous side-kick type that had enough energy to light up a small city. The other characters each had their own voice and there was great character development. There was some gore but not sick gore. And what there was tended to be so unbelievable that it just didn't register on the gross scale. Although the ending didn't really tie up what happens afterwards, it wasn't exactly a non-ending either if that makes sense. While I would have liked to have known a little more about what happens now, I don't feel I was deprived. The book was a little cheesy but fun. Another reviewer mentioned The Widowmaker II. I don't know if there really is another book in the works, but if so I'll probably read it. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is a horror movie fan. less
