review 1: I don't know who I'm fooling with all the three star reviews I keep giving Elin hilderbrand's books. I love her stories. The elitist and anti-feminist things her characters say and think make me cringe, but I keep coming back for more the way Connie keeps reaching for the Chardonnay. I hadn't originally planned to read another one so soon, but work has been stressful and her books are my equivalent of Calgon bubble bath.
review 2: This was one of my favorites. You see, I went on an Elin HIlderbrand reading spree this summer. Probably because I was down the Cape most of the summer and was facing a year of no work (not the kind you get paid for at least) and I have dreams of writing books like these. Anyway, I liked it a lot because it got me thinking about th... moree Madoff case, which this is so obviously modeled after. I like the romance. The cooking. The beach scenes. And as always, I love a happy ending. less
