review 1: If I could rate it four and a half, I would have. This book was a charming tale about a family who comes to the states to claim the house left to him by his uncle. The problem is that the house was sold to another family so a war begins to find the rightful owner. Of course the man and the owners daughter fall in love complicating matters. Camden's writing is easy to read and her character development is really good. I will dr sure read more of her novels.
review 2: I liked “The Rose of Winslow Street” but wouldn’t give it any more than 3 ½ stars, unlike Camden’s “Into the Whirlwind” which I thoroughly enjoyed. This plot was creative and different, with some surprises thrown in that I didn’t expect. It was a story that I could easily put dow
... moren when I needed to, but most certainly wanted to see how it all ended up. Michael Dobrescu and family, plus a couple friends arrive in America from Romania to claim an old home belonging to his uncle. The vacationing American owners of the home, Libby and her Professor father, are shocked to discover these Romanians have taken over their home. A legal battle begins over the home’s rightful ownership. In the meantime, Libby and Michael find an attraction is developing. The whole scenario opens a Pandora’s box of mystery and secrets concerning the house, the Dobrescu Family, and Libby’s family. The unraveling is curious and interesting – and in parts quite fun! I like Elizabeth Camden’s writing enough to keep her on my list of authors to watch. Her plot creativity is pretty good and I am curious to see what else she writes beyond the three I have read. less
