review 1: I first read this author earlier in the month and the two books I read were very enjoyable so of course I downloaded more. This one had a great storyline and the characters were strong. I felt like I was a part of their story and was living the drama and emotions with them. I gave it 4* and the only reason it didn't get 5 is because I thought that the story dragged a little, there were several pages that were just filled up with sex scenes which really weren't necessary and just detracted from a great story.
review 2: ~~~ 3 STARS OR 5.5/10 ~~~I'm a big EF fan. I've loved several of her books and although I was anticipating this book big time, it wasn't as good as her other work. This was a romantic suspense/contemporary romance. The romance part was good but th... moree suspense part was almost anticlimactic. When I got to the part when everything was exposed, I expected a little more but that's okay. Kat and Dillon were a cute couple brought together by destiny. She's a teacher to his 13 year old son and although they got off on the wrong foot during parent/teacher interviews, they got a second chance at first impressions after her home gets broken into.Dillon becomes a fixture in Kat's life and the perpetrator responsible for harassing her remains elusive for the majority of the book. I wish the bad guy was set up differently, I think it would have been more surprising, more shocking if that was the case.There were definitely angsty moments here, something EF does really well. And while she writes great sexy time, I found those scenes dragged on this time around. So for the most part I liked this, the romance really, but it did drag. The suspense while starting out engrossing let me down. The secondary characters balanced out the story really well. I liked Seth, Dillon's son and Imogen, Kat's hilarious and spunky British friend. I'm wondering if there'll be an offshoot romance with her and Marcus( Dillon's partner)??? That would be cool. The epilogue was cute and finished the story nicely.I'll read anything EF writes, so really looking forward to future work by her. If you haven't read her stuff you should check it out. less
