Code Name Verity
review 1: Not as emotionally devastating as *Code Name Verity,* which is odd, considering that it's largely set in a concentration camp. It's like the scope of the horrors is so vast, you can't absorb it, whereas the fate of one spy in CNV was easier to latch on to. Still a decent read, and a pleasure to find a teen book that is not a paranormal and/or dystopic love triangle. And there definitely were tears shed.
review 2: Having read and enjoyed Code Name Verity, I have to say I was disappointed by this one, since it just felt like more of the same. The main character, Rose, is extremely similar to both Julie and Maddie from the earlier book, and the story is told in the same journal format. More problematic was the fact that I never really felt a connection with a
... moreny of the secondary characters. Not what I had hoped. less
