review 1: I must confess, for the first part of this book, I was barely hanging on. I wasn't quite ready to give up on the book, but I wasn't loving it, either. I felt like like I couldn't put all the pieces in place. And then I started Part 2...oh, my! Everything started falling into place. By the end of the book I was enthralled with the way the stories (and lives) of Maddie and Julie were so intertwined that you had to have both stories to understand what happened to either one of them. This is a beautiful story of friendship.
