review 1: I haven't read this cover-to-cover but I feel like I could. I don't typically buy books for myself but this one must live on my bookshelf. It tells you what books are best to read for different ailments. It is organized alphabetically with a myriad of "see also"s. Some are very serious, like best books to read for heartbreak, others are silly like what to read when you're locked out of your house, others are practical like what to read in the bathroom (books with short vignettes of course!). I suggested one to a family member dealing with stress and I have diagnosed myself with one so I will update when I see the results. It's such a fun way to find a new book and the descriptions are just so well written and witty. Check it out and diagnose yourself or a friend with a cur... moreative text.
review 2: I'm not going to rate this because I can't claim to have read it. I worked my way through it looking for interesting books I might want to read. I found the arrangement of the book frustrating and inconvenient. Several books are often listed under one heading, and discussed in the paragraphs that follow. So if there's one book you're interested in, you have to scan a lot of writing to find the name of the book and see what they have to say about it. It wouldn't have been so difficult to remedy this by putting the titles of the books in boldface within the commentary. less

I won this book as a First Reads book. I'll give a better review once I've had a chance to read it.

Una lunga serie di magagne e una poco convincente lista di rimedi.
