review 1: I did not enjoy this book like others by Elle Casey. It was very slow and repetitive where nothing happens for pretty much the whole half of this book. I also extremely disliked the lead character Candice. She came across as an abrasive, loud-mouthed, attention seeking twit. Nothing she did was believable to me and situations she was put in seemed out of character to her behaviour. She participates in the birth of a calf and then instantly refers to herself as the cow's mumma and has this undying love for the calf...yet she can't stand the thought of chickens having eggs and anything else farm related?? She wants to help her best friend make friends....by making enemies with every single person she crosses? She's supposed to be some independent, self assured women...an... mored yet at nearly 30 can't peel garlic or onions and doesn't know the difference between them both??The story line just drags on an on with nearly every chapter ending with Candice 'formulating a plan' and 'Ian won't know what hit him'. Yet...nothing bloody EVER happens!! She's also as indecisive as the changing weather.All in all...a pretty unbelievable insta-love/insta-hate story that will drive you mental.
review 2: At first WTF fashionista meets country & she goes down. However, Candice's determination, grit & loyalty + ER trips, show that's she's not a bobblehead but smart & truly a good friend with a big heart. She found strength & courage that wouldn't of known if not challenged.At times I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. Candice obsession with Google references & chicken butts was bizarre.Ian had lost direction since broken engagement so Candice riling him up getting him out of his scowling funk, reignited his dreams, sort out his priorities, got his sparkle back.Finished with lighten spirit. less
