review 1: Body Check by Elle Kennedy is a sports themed romance. It is currently hockey season so I was looking for a good hockey themed romance and this one was exactly what I was looking for. In Body Check, good girl scholar Hayden Houston is in Chicago visiting her father. For various reasons she decides to have a one night stand and picks up hockey star Brody Croft at a bar. He is personally not looking for one night stands anymore but he has instant chemistry with Hayden and takes her up on her offer. What then follows is a great romance with a bit of hockey, a bit of drama, and some really great characters. Definitely recommend.

This book had just the right amount of spice, romance, sex(and there are plenty to keep you satisfied), heartbreak, betrayal, and everything else that would make a book an excellent read. I want to say this book is a short-read like some of my friends have, but this book took me quite a while to finish(3 1/2 hours). At first when i read the summary of the book(which is above this review), I thought "hmm...sounds...interesting. probaly is the same as the other sport books I've read"-well, i was wrong. This book was more than expected, and managed to grab and hold my attention(in a good way), all the while giving me a few chuckles and surprises throughout the book. All in all, loved it. 5 stars! I would recommend this to everyone who would love to read an amazing romantic book, all the while learning some life lessons that could come in handy.________________________________________________________PLEASE DON'T READ FORWARD, SPOILERS. I LIKE TO JOT DOWN THINGS THAT HAPPEN THROUGHOUT BOOK, SO THAT I CAN RE-READ AND REFRESH MY MIND OF WHEN I COME ACROSS THIS BOOK AND THINK"HMM....DON'T REMEMBER READING THIS"... YOU HAVE BEEN WANREDBrody and Hayden meet at a bar, and the instinct they touched each other, it felt as if "the earth had moved". Hayden was currently on "break" with her ex-bf doug, and was convinced by her sex-addicted bff darcy to hit it off with brody. Things take a nasty turn though when she finds out later on that brody's career is hockey. At first i thought shelia(step mom-ex) was a total bitch because she was sort-of a gold digger when she divorced hayden's dad, but i realized she's not so bad after all...she did the right thing, and i was glad she ended up with welsey in the end. Hayden didnt want to believe that her dad had bribed with a few hockey players(which is a crime), but in the end got the evidence and the proof. At least her dad did the right thing and told the truth... the main conflict in brody and hayden's relationship was always about either the hockey team, and other times...her dad. Im glad that everything worked out in the end, and loved the epilogue.Brody is expecting a baby boy to be due soon(its only been 5 months so far-another 5 to go?), and hayden is expecting a baby girl. She and her dad are happy now-even though the dad lost the team to this dude named jonas, they are connecting more as dad and daughter. Hayden is now Mrs.Croft less
