review 1: I really wanted to love this book, but I couldn't. There were too many things that didn't work for me. First, it was one of those books that felt like a male had just been substituted for a female and a few specific sexual descriptions inserted to reinforce that the character was, indeed, male. Other than the physical, Trent read like the typical m/f romance heroine. Secondly, I had a bit of a problem with them wanting to be all over each other when they'd been away from civilization for several days in a hot climate, had been having sex and had not been bathing. I think there's a limit as to how much funk even two horny guys can tolerate! And then there's the whole issue of several basic mistakes Reed makes even though he's a trained agent. It just didn't read true for me... more and that really got in the way of my enjoyment of the story.
review 2: A 3.5* read for me. This is a humourous adventure romp through Thailand, with hapless hero Trent getting into all sorts of scrapes and well out of his comfort zone. Our other hero Reed is either a scam artist or a true hero, out to save the world - and Trent wavers between the two views depending on the scrape they are in.The story is light hearted, written at a pace that pulls you along and so long as its not taken too literally, an enjoyable jaunt! less

See detailed review on Rarer than Rubies, which was a significant improvement, in my opinion.
