review 1: While I read the whole book sadly it just didn't work for me. Josh was too much of a jerk and didn't do near enough to redeem himself prior to the end. Though Josh and Micha were solidly together by the end of the book I still felt like there were threads left hanging. And, there was....something.....I'm not sure but just this overall feeling of blah. There was no urgency and I never felt any intensity. This story was about Jewish men and Jewish families and that didn't bother me. It did annoy me to get so many Jewish terms followed immediately by the English meaning or translation. It's not because it was Jewish, it makes me nuts when it's done for other languages and/or cultures. Pulls I me right out of the story. So, this was simply not enjoyable for me. I've got the wh... moreole series and I'll keep moving forward but I'm kinda hesitant now.
review 2: This book was a combination of my 2 favorites genres- gay romance and cookbooks! I didn't know about the cookbook part until the end but it was a great surprise. Joshua was actually preparing a dish and the author was describing it so well, I was trying to figure out how to make it myself. Then I get to the end and there's the recipe! I also love how in depth the author went with the Jewish religious practices. less
