review 1: This book starts out in the introduction with the author and her daughter driving down the road and her daughter says, "Mom, you believe in Jesus and I believe in Santa Claus." That makes the author think back to all the traditions and everything they'd been doing to get ready for Santa's visit and how they may have missed the most important reason for the season. The thing I liked best about this book is that Ms. Freeman's idea (that she tells how to do in the book in order to have a Christ-centered Christmas) is easily adaptable to my family. Anyone can do this and it's simple and sweet and meaningful. She goes through and explains how she makes her family Christmas truly special by using the figurines in a Nativity scene. Each chapter has the author's perspective and ... morethoughts, an activity, story, and scripture in the book that could be read and pondered before you put the figurine in its place as you build the nativity. I loved how easy it was and how relatable the stories were. I can definitely envision myself doing this and making it a Bellon family tradition. This is a short and sweet book that touched me and I know you'll want to have it, too!
review 2: How do you start Christ-centered family traditions if you didn't grow up with very many? You need Celebrating A Christ-Centered Christmas by Emily Belle Freeman! She has 7 awesome traditions that are centered on Christ that she shares with you. Each tradition is focused on one of the members in the nativity. She shares stories, songs to sing, scriptures from the Bible to read, and activities to do with your family. I love that this book is really for family of all ages. You can adjust the activities so they fit the ages of your children. It's also a great book for anyone who believes in Christ. Celebrating A Christ-Centered Christmas is a quick read that is full of great ideas! I love the feelings I felt while reading this book. It has really gotten me motivated to make sure that our family traditions are more focused on Christ with Santa still there, but just not the main focus. less
