review 1: This is a fast-paced adventure story set in a flooded future world. It is well-written, with engaging characters and I would probably give it 3.5 stars if I could, but I had some problems with the plot. The world of the story was interesting and well-described, but didn't always make sense. The sea cats were a lovely idea, but where did they come from? And why would someone make a temperamental computer in the first place? It did feel as though there is going to be a sequel which may develop the ideas further, but I would have liked more explanation in this book.

... moregetting later and later this week. Anyway- great characters, two very distinct first person voices, awesomely cool dystopian post-Collapse world half-underwater setting, sailboats (LOVE!), a cat (LOVE!), artificial intelligence, people mining landfills... It is quite brilliant. And seriously- I'm reading it aloud and there is not an awkward sentence in there. Just beautifully written. less

A very satisfying fantasy, with an interesting tech-y, postapocalyptic twist.
