review 1: The illustrations in this book are loads of fun! As are the rhymes which - aside from the last few pages - flowed incredibly well and would probably be super fun to read aloud!I liked the intent of the ending, and the sweetness that came along with it. But, I couldn't help but feel a little... not five-star-ish... about the 'stereotyping' of the various dog breeds. Maybe this is far too picky of me, and I know it's all in fun, but I love dogs and I had a hard time accepting that various breeds were 'posh' or 'snappy' 'snooty' or 'never-happy...'I think the final - very important - message could have been conveyed in a different way.
review 2: Much like me, this little girl knows more what she doesn't want then what she wants. Unfortunately, she doesn't want
... morepretty much every type of dog, or at least things that characterize every type of dog at some point. It would be hard to find a dog that has never jumped on a person, drooled, needed a bath, or ran around. Frankly, she doesn't want a posh dog, she wants a pound puppy toy. I was disappointed, considering how much I have enjoyed Emma Dodd's other works. less

I think I may take up this book as my anthem until Tim lets me adopt a dog. So cute!
