review 1: The world around baby penguin is big and fast and steep, but the little penguin is small.Excellent book to share with a repetitive phrase everyone can join in and say together, "and I am small." I added the phrase, "Little Penguins says.." to give it a smoother transition for the audience. An interesting book note, each page is used as part of the story - including the front and back splash pages. review 2: A focus on feeling small in comparison to vast spaces and larger entities would make this a nice "quick-hit" introductory read-aloud for a transcendentalism unit. Finding one's self in the company of others make this a n... moreatural fit with many of Walt Whitman's pieces. Just a couple of suggestions for how to plug a sweet little "one book/four hands" title into the larger picture of the secondary classroom. less
