The Game
review 1: I thought this was a cute new adult novel, that had plot loosely along the lines of Much Ado About Nothing. The Shakesperian comedy even got a shout out at one point. The H is the college playboy that can have any girl he wants, the h is the "good girl" that doesn't drink, curse, or sleep around. The H and his buddies decide he has a month to try to get the h to fall in love and sleep with him. Meanwhile, the h and her friends decide that the h has a month to make the H fall for her and then dump him, to teach him a much deserved lesson. From there follows a lot flirting along with increasing sexual tension which makes everbody question motives, ethics and what's real. Let the games begin...
review 2: I am reluctant to give this a full 4-stars due to the la
... moreck of a epilogue. (But that's pretty justified in the last chapter, I guess) One consolation I have is that they will appear again in their friends' books. This was a great lighthearted read! I liked it a lot, and I finished it within a few hours. I got sucked into the story, and I couldn't rid my head of their thoughts, despite the nervous cloud hanging over my head about tomorrow's exam. The characters were pretty great and all, but one complaint I have is that the college background/experience wasn't fully capitalized/utilized. The male protagonist lives in a frat house, but there's never a mention of the frat, or the overbearing seniors. That didn't dwell well with me, but it's something I'm willing to overlook after finishing the story. less
