The Split Worlds
review 1: Another fantastic instalment of the Split Worlds series which just keeps getting better as it progresses. This book explores more of the politics of Nether Society as well as delving deeper into some of the mysteries of Exilium and the Elemental Court. Cathy and William’s characters and relationship continue to develop in interesting ways, while Max and the gargoyle continue to follow the clues to ever larger mysteries. I really enjoyed this book and the series as a whole; I found it interesting, unusual, well-plotted, well-written and full of fantastic and engaging characters, both primary and peripheral. I hope Emma Newman is writing more in the Split Worlds series because I can’t wait to read them.
review 2: These books are interesting and fun... Yet
... more I feel like they skip around, and include too many story lines. The worlds are well developed, yet I felt that there were too many unknown variables. Many times I wasn't sure what the magical rules for a character would be and ended up not sure why something did or didn't happen. To me the story became to random, and I've lost interest in some very interesting characters... less

The entire trilogy was slow as molasses , but it ended satisfactorily.
