review 1: Glad for some of the running advice. I've incorporated a lot of it into my running and I think my stride feels more comfortable for my body now. So much that you have to buy though to train his way and clearly writing isn't his gift. Also, he's pretty condescending sometimes. 'Oh there is this science behind what I'm telling and it's awesome and true but I don't want to bog you down and bore you with the details. But trust me.' Also, I can't get on board with his food/diet advice, but maybe I'm not his target athlete audience.
review 2: Unlike many of the reviews I enjoyed ready the Jackson Hole Vacation training part --- it kept me reading it verses merely browsing the charts / exercises etc... Or to details his training schedule for getting anyone able to
... morerun better than expected. He focuses on the physiology of strengthening the little muscles (especially in our feet) to prevent injury. This is something I believe would make a difference. That being said the equipment needed is expensive and I doubt I'll ever put his training fully into practice. If at a later date I did, I'd certainly buy my own copy! less

If you've read Born to Run, this is a good self-coaching book to train for distance running.
