review 1: I really liked the main character of this book, and it is entertaining overall. However, cliches abound, and the author tries to excuse them by referring to them as "Molly Ringwald"-esque (thus, the title), but this doesn't really help all that much. Still, I actually kind of liked the book, and it had glimmers of originality. If the author can stay away from plots stolen from '80s movies next time, I'd be eager to read her second book.
review 2: I did not personally enjoy this book. The idea of the plot was fairly interesting, but it was over the span of too much time. THis was especially noticeable by how she had just met a guy and then in 4 pages they have been dating for 5 years. This element had made the book sort of confusing. This is also a more urban no
... morevel so if you are not up to date on slang this may be hard to a hard book to read. less
