review 1: Kat Redding has been in Delai trying to control her bloodlust. She is under the guidance of the charismatic and dangerous Levi. Circumstances force her to return to her real life, and she must become Lady Death once more. She was presumed dead, but word quickly spreads that rumors of her death were greatly exaggerated. She finds herself confronting a new and very deadly enemy, the Countess Beset. It seems that Kat killed her lover and the Countess wants payback. To save her friends, Kat must become the Countess' pet assassin. Kat has her hands full not only dealing with the Countess, but also her attraction to Jonathan, the leader of the Luna Cult, and coping with her demon mark from Beligral, her friend Ethan's demon. Kat is not always a likeable heroine, but her reaction... mores feel real. Having to watch her brother die and be powerless to save him is a burden she must carry through her whole life. She lashes out at those who are friends or who are at least neutral. The story is fast paced and interesting and Countess Beset is one creepy a** villain. Fans of parnormal series that feature a strong female protatgonist will want to give this series a try. They do need to be read in order, so start with book 1- To Walk the Night.
review 2: My library has not gotten Tainted Night, Tainted Blood, and some time has passed since I read To Walk The Night, so I am grateful to the reviewers who give plot details in their reviews. I forgot that this series is set in Columbus, Ohio where I have lived for 35 years. Some of the descriptions are quite creepy. The Kat Redding series is not a cheerful piece of fluff. Kat's world and her life are grim and horrific. Blessed by a Demon's Mark is a fast paced, interesting read but not uplifting, and none of the story lines are resolved. less
