That I was on a blogging hiatus but still requested for this and finished in less than 24 hours says a lot right? Right!
Having read all of Willow’s past works really made me think twice if this one is still the same author as before. Because, hot damn – Whore is a whole new different side to her craft, one I sure wish to see more in her future works.
There’s a whole lot of stuff going on in the story – angst, romance, issues, character development, fierceness, suspense and mystery. I felt like Willow poured all of her strengths and from there, this book was conceived.
Lilith’s character is dynamic and growing. You will feel yourself rooting for her, wanting her to be happy. People know that I’m not usually a fan of instalove but somehow, the chemistry between Lili and Soti didn’t make me roll my eyes at all. In fact, I wanted it to protect whatever they have.
On the other hand, I wish there’s more about Soti. His character, his personality, his past – all so intriguing and worthy of a second book. *wink wink*.
At first, I felt kind of lost as to where the story is going but it picked up. And I have to say that the last part, ooh that last part was such a strong avalanche of feels and emotions. I was scared. I was excited. I was nervous.
This book is such a delight to read. I was devouring the words, intent on knowing what will happen to Lili and Soti’s fates. It was such a page turner, that kind of book you can say you read without noticing how time flew by.
It’s been a while since I read something from Willow’s and Whore is definitely an amazing read for new and old Willow readers alike. It’s addictive as it is compelling and you will surely want to get your grabby hands on this baby!
“I need a reason to exist.”
Beautiful, intelligent, independent, strong-willed, wealthy—Lilith Fontenot seems by all appearances, to have it all. But that’s not how the highest paid prostitute in New Orleans sees herself.
A stain on society. A scourge. A waste. Outsider. Prisoner…
Any idyllic dream of the normal life she may have once imagined, Lilith buried long ago. Her only plan now is survival.
But mob boss Nico Santelli and community center owner Soti Christos have not given up on Lilith. Each has his own very specific, very opposing, plans for her, and neither will rest until it becomes a reality.
WHORE is a singularly bracing take on an ancient tale of tireless love, betrayal, and the possibility of redemption.
