review 1: ehh. This book was passable, but it was just so . . . boring. Like, REALLY boring. Orson Scott Card falls into the same trap in his book, Pathfinder, but not THIS bad. It's a fine book, but it's not a compelling read, which is what i often look for in my books, that i just CANNOT put it down, or when i have to, it hurts (my SOUL!! XD) this book, just didn't. I actually do have higher hopes for the second book, because something interesting finally happened on the LAST TWO PAGES of the entire book, but i'll probably read that one too. However, if it turns out as monotone as this book was? i will be breaking my silver rule and DITCHING it before i finish it. Maybe her other book, Nobody's princess, one about Helen of troy will be better.
review 2: I don't even kn
... moreow where to begin. This book is long winded with un-nessicary scenes out the wazoo and it is also horribly historically inaccurate. I mean really, if people want to write historical fiction at least take the TIME to research and portray everything correctly, and reducing a historical person down to a selfish, whinny, lacking common sense brat...ugh. Just come up with your own setting/plot/characters at that point! Don't pervert history for the sake of artistic licensing. less
