review 1: I got this book as part of the Tall, Dark, and Alpha boxed set. Hmmm… Well that was different but interesting… A vampire and a human girl who can hear voices. There were moments where I was annoyed, the number one moment being the use of the word ‘turgid’ to describe Zane’ s cock. I absolutely LOATHE that word with the burn of a hemorrhoid outbreak! The use of that one word alone knocks a half a star off my rating automatically. But the story was alright. There’s lots of potential for a great story (I’m thinking a Sookie Stackhouse-esque series…). I’m definitely interested in more of Ella and Zane’s story. It was super short so it did seem rushed and kind of just “thrown together” if that makes sense. All in all it was a decent though. It held my in... moreterest and piqued my desire for more.
review 2: I loved this book the first time round and love it just as much now with it having been given a polish and expanded by the author! I Love Ella and Zane and the supporting characters of Hendricks, Anna and Felicity! I'm hoping that the edit and polish mean that there is a continuation of Ella and Zane's story coming soon cause the book still gives the impression that their story isn't finished considering what Zane learns regarding Ella at the end of the book! less
