review 1: *Some spoilers aheadThe title of the book will make you think that it'll be a straightforward read but you're in for a surprise, because it's anything but. This book will take you on a fast-paced ride, through twists and turns that will leave you begging for more.The story begins five years after the end of the first book. Scott and Bridie were married with two children. The catalyst that lunched the events in the story was when Scott was deployed in Iraq and was captured by the terrorist, after that things just went downhill or uphill depending on your perspective.It was such an emotional read. I didn't know who I was rooting for because the brothers are both amazing, yes they did have their moments but inherently both were good guys who just want to do right for their fa... moremily and the person that they love. Proof to show that Eve Rabi just know how to do love triangles right is when you are rooting for both guys and don't know who you want the girl to end up with or is happy whoever the girl end up with.I was really saddened with what happened with Scott, after what he went through he deserved his happy ending, he loved so fiercely. I was expecting that if Bridie doesn't choose to stay with him by the end he'll eventually move on but Eve Rabi doesn't do easy.It was an utter thrill-ride...Sexy and steamy with moments of romantic intensity. I love it!
review 2: 4 1/2 stars!!I thought I was Bipolar after I finished this book. One minute I'm laughing, the next, I'm crying and the next, my heart is pounding in fear and uncertainty. This book was a definite page turner. The family dynamics, secrets, betrayals, heartbreak and introduction to mental illness didn't give me a chance to catch my breath.After five years, Cody and Bridie are finally reunited after Bridie's husband (Cody's brother) becomes a POW. Cody was a changed man. He immediately stepped up to help Bridie and her kids. He took them in and cared for them as if they were his own, all while still pining for the woman he loved. Bridie too was still in love with Cody but they both knew they couldn't act on their desires, but we all know what happens when two people who love each other are in close proximity for an extended period of time.Cody became an official book boyfriend in this story. He took such good care of Bridie and her children and the love they shared came flooding back. They took advantage of every second to spend time together. I kind of felt guilty for wanting her to cheat on her poor POW husband suffering from PTSD, but Cody had my heart in this one. When Bridie had to make a decision as to which man she would stay with, I teared up, not gonna lie. I absolutely loved this book and wish there was more to their story. Eve Rabi has done it again! less
