review 1: The return of Molly! Ever since I picked up a Jane Yellowrock story I have always felt like they were Jane/Molly stories. Jane's connection with this other powerful yet opposite type female is as much about who she is as any other connection she has. Now its time to find out where Molly has been and what she's been doing, the thing is, cause there is always a thing, is not even her husband Evan is sure about what she's doing. In fact Evan thinks she is with Jane and he isnt happy about it. Once its understood that Jane has no idea what's happened to Molly, Evan and Jane need to team up and find her. This takes us into the history of witches and vampires in New Orleans, and a new "big bad" that has ties to both. This story brings Jane's life and "family" closer together, str... moreengthening the ties to Eli and the kid, and bringing back her relationship with the Truebloods and bringing her life, and its mysteries more into focus. I know these are partially romantic novels, but those relationships, the romantic one, have never interested me as much as the familial ones have. This book does get into the romance tho too, both Bruiser and Rick make appearances, and Leo tries to make up for, what I feel, the deepest betrayal that Jane has ever had.(I also feel he doesnt come close to making up for it,but that is up to each reader) Finding Molly is Jane's priority, but while in the middle of the search, Leo puts Jane in charge of A Gathering, and there are more surprises there. Its complicated, but I cant emphasis enough Molly's Back!Great action and the most advancement the story has had in a couple of books. I think you're going to like this one. If you havent picked up this series, and are still on the fence about it, I think its time to come on board. Great craft and story, lots of action, with a solid hero at the center.
review 2: Faith Hunter's series about vampires, shifters, and other urban fantasy characters never disappoints. The massive political machinations of the vampire elite is fascinating, twisted, and unspools endlessly due to the long-lived vampires ability to play the long game. Jane Yellowrock manages to fulfill her professional obligations as an enforcer, and protect her extended family at the same time she struggles with personal issues, magical attacks, and love and attraction. The author keeps me going with this series. I'm always excited when a new book is published. less

F. Hunter is a solid writer who has yet to dissappoint. Lots of action this time around.
