review 1: This good mystery is set in Paris and rural Normandy. An investigator from Paris is brought in when a local hunter is missing. A woman had seen a group of ghostly riders and he was among the four people being carried off by them. Whenever this event happened in the past it means that their captives will die a violent death. The characters in this book are eccentric and there is humor as well as drama and action. It is altogether an entertaining and engrossing book. I look forward to reading more in this series and hope that they all get translated.
review 2: Das ist vorerst der letzte Kommissar-Adamsberg-Krimi von Fred Vargas - OMG, was soll ich jetzt bloß lesen? :-) Der Fall ist wieder sehr spannend und fantasiereich, ich habe mich sehr gefreut, dass es... more in die Normandie ging. Und so hatte ich beim Lesen wie immer viel Freude. Nichtsdestotrotz schlichen sich bei diesem Roman ein paar Längen ein (das Buch ist auch etwas dicker als die anderen), so dass ich für diesen Roman nur 4 statt 5 Sterne geben. less
