review 1: This was an okay read for me. Quick and easy. The story starts of from Jess's point of view. She's waiting for what we presume to be her boyfriend. But he's late. She ends up being attacked and that is all you hear.The first chapter starts from Cassie's point of view. A new student to Darke Academy who was given a scholarship to attend the school for high end society kids who's parents spend ridiculous amounts of money to send their kids here. From the get go Cassie knows she doesn't fit in. But soon the mystery of the schools elite group the Few has her running around to find answers. But when she does she's not so happy about what she finds.The story was dark and mysterious but I found it a bit lacking. At the end of the book I was left trying to figure out what the heck... more had happened. I will obviously read on to try and find what is going on.
review 2: This is the first book i have read by Gabriella poole and i really enjoyed it. I found it a very easy read and didnt take too long to get through.I thought the storyline was good and everything was explained, there were no big gaps. On a down side though there was also no cliffhangers or suspense. I am now onto the 2nd book in the series just because i like to read as much of a series as possible before i move onto something else. I have to say that there was no other reason than that to carry on. I guess i did kind of want to find out what happened with cassie when she went back to school.I am hoping as i carry on with the series that there are a few more twists and turns and the series doesnt just drag on with nothing to fill it as i have found in so many series of this genre that i have read.I did enjoy the book though and would be interested in looking at her other works in the future. less
