review 1: This is my first Gaelen Foley book and it was great. A very romantic, sexy book with a wonderful story line. The book is not only about two people falling for each other but it has a suspenseful story behind it that doesn't end. The story about Daphne Starling and Lord Max Rotherstone comes to a conclusion but there is more going on with the Inferno Club and its other members. Captivating and am looking forward reading the next novel in this series.
review 2: Max is fun (but definitely a faux libertine/rake - nothing kinkier here than sex out of bed); Daphne only has one too stupid to live moment (rushing off to see Lady Westwood - she's seen Max's scars, and she knows something "secret" is going, yet she still goes to see her?) and the anachronisms blend i... morento the story (I'm not entirely sure a debutante would - or should - be going into the rookerys basically alone).I liked it though, and it did stand up to a re-read fairly well. Somewhat cheesier this time through, but that's the secret-society thing and remembering the "future" story. 3.5 stars this time; 4.5 the first. less
