Bueno, bueno, bueno, pues una vez leído el segundo de esta pentalogía –en inglés, en castellano parece que solo han editado los cuatro primeros- decir que el segundo de la saga mantiene el buen nivel del primero, no decae el interés con el que lo leemos en ningún momento.Si lo atractivo del primer libro era la presentación de esas sociedad victoriana alternativa steampunk + vampiros + licantropos, en este segundo libro el fuerte de la historia es la intriga por los acontecimientos que suceden.Una vez más personajes atractivos nos llevan a través de una intriga igualmente atractiva. Le he puesto un 8/10, pero fácilmente podría ser más. Agradable, muy agradable de leer. De esos libros que, cuando dejas de leer, tienes ganas de volver a pillar otro rato para continuarles.Me pongo raudo y veloz con el tercero.
Alexia goes to Scotland! The characters stay the same charming ones as in the first book, the world-building deepens, and there is a nice mystery to explore. Once again the steampunk is kept firmly in the background as opposed to plot device.I enjoy the dialogue, the internal observations of our heroine, and the skill at which the author not only tells, but also shows. The relationship between Alexia and her husband still seems real and well-drawn. I was a bit disappointed by the mystery but then again, Changeless is to be found on the Fantasy bookshelves and not the Mystery / Thriller ones.All in all, a strong follow up to the first book and keeps the reader involved enough to move straight into the third. As I did.
I liked this book better than the first. It moved quickly and I liked the characters even better.
This book annoyed me quite a bit. And that ending...AHHH!!!
