review 1: This was my first book by Ms. Halliday and for the most part it was exactly what I expected, an easily digested fluffy crime novel. However, upon reading the page where she actually uses the sentence "You gotta lot of 'splainin to do Lucy," it took every single ounce of willpower I could muster to not throw my Nook across the room. Authors, please take note. That sentence should never be uttered outside of an I Love Lucy re-run and it should never, ever, EVER be used in a book. It's over, give it up.Should I ever muster up enough courage to read another of Ms. Halliday's novels I'm sure it will be rated much higher provided she never uses that inane sentence again. Otherwise my review will be in regards to how this terrible writer broke my Nook.

... moreI love Gemma Halliday and her High Heels series. It's my favorite girly, cozy mystery series by far. Gemma can be cheesy at times, but she's also quite funny. I think as far as chick-lit goes she's an excellent writer. If this is the type of book I'm in the mood for Gemma is my go to girl.I didn't know the High Heels series was going to continue to be honest. I was glad to see it did, though, and once again was able to jump right back in to the mystery and suspense with Maddie! I adore her best friends Dana and Marco so I was glad to see them along for the ride again. Maddie is pregnant, but don't think that stops her from her usual antics. Fun, fast paced, and pretty short, but Fearless was a great addition to the series. less

I love the character of Maddie Springer. I have read the complete High Heels series. There is nothing quite like Maddie and her detective husband Jack Ramirez and the cast of quirky characters they are involved with when she is always running into dead bodies and they all try to solve it. Of course Maddie and her friends should be staying out of the investigation which continually upsets her husband who is trying to solve the crime. I hope this isn't the last in the series. This is a fun series to read. It has laughs, adventure and fun, fun, fun.

I love this series. Maddie is just too funny and I absolutely love her husband Ramirez. The dynamics between them can always make me smile. Even though she doesn't actively go out seeking dead bodies, they somehow find her and even though her sleuthing drives Ramirez crazy, he loves her so he just accepts it. This book is just as good as the other ones before it and I already have book #7 downloaded onto my kindle and ready to go.
