review 1: Luck Be A Lady by Gemma Halliday and T. Sue VerSteeg is the first mystery in the Tahoe Tessie mystery series. Tessie goes home for her dad's funeral and runs smack into a mystery involving her father's death. As much as she wants to leave the casino scene and go back to her art work, she soon realizes that she has inherited her father's casino.In addition to her father's death, Tessie has to deal with irate resort guests who are having expensive items stolen and hold her responsible. Throw in a couple of cute guys and Tessie has more than she needs, and going home soon isn't a possibility.Luck Be A Lady is a quick, fun read, with an interesting cast of characters. There is just enough mystery to keep you guessing the culprit to the end. I am looking forward to the next boo... morek in the series.
review 2: I thought I was sitting down to read a drama mystery and wow was I wrong. I laughed so hard in some parts. In fact there are some pages that I let my imagination just go wild and then ended up laughing what I was thinking. This was a excellent,relaxing and the funniest book that I have read in a long while. I am glad that I got in a Vol. #1 A Tahoe Tessie Mystery and I will be watching everywhere for #2. I have been to Tahoe numerous times and have never met a Tessie, sure wish I had, what a time I would of had, a night I would never forget. less
