review 1: Wonderful Humorous Book!This is a great humorous book by Gemma Halliday. This is the first book in the Hollywood Headlines series. This is such a fun read that had me reading until the end. Tina Bender is a gossip columnist for a tabloid and is not afraid to print what she knows about everyone. That is until she receives a letter telling her “If you don’t stop writing about me, you’re dead.” The problem is she doesn’t know who sent it to her. She gets the help from her friends to try and solve who sent her the letter and why they are willing to kill to cover up their secrets. I can’t wait to read the next books in this series. review 2: I got this book for free for subscribing to Gemma Halliday's newsletter. If I bought it, I would regret the 5 USD it cost. I really love the High Heels Mysteries and thought this would be similar, but I just didn't like the main character and the plot. I am not going to buy the rest of this series.Tina Bender (the main character) works as a journalist and writes daily gossip column. She starts receiving threats from someone she writes about. She starts investigating who this person is. Her boss Felix (the reporter from High Heels Mysteries) hires a bodyguard for Tina, but she is stubborn and doesn't like him first. She falls in love with him at the end, but you can predict this very early in the book.Even though the plot tends to be similar to the High Heels Mysteries books (a chick investigates murders/threats on their own), I didn't like this book that much. less
