review 1: This is more like 3.5 stars. I wish it had been a little more fleshed out, and the artwork, while charming, felt a little too unfinished for me. Still, the story of Dennis Ouyang (who loves video games, but who wants to please his father and become a gastroenterologist) is yet another example of Gene Luen Yang's gift for combining coming of age tales with cultural heritage, family stories, and magical realism. This is a short little book, but it hits you right in the feels.

His father wants him to be a doctor and he wants be a gamer. this book has a good story to it. its one of my favorite books. less
