review 1: Just finished and wanting more!I know I have plenty of friends who have urged me to watch the show, but as usual the books are by far much more diverse and in my opinion, "better" then anything they try to depict thru pixels on a screen.It was an amazing series, beautifully written. Clash of Kings and Dance with Dragons being my personal favorites. However there is no doubt in my mind that I will be returning to the books shortly before the last is released. I strongly recommend all GoT series fans to read the books, it'll give you much more understanding of the world of Westoros, and for those who have never partaken, this is a must read. Reading in conjunction with the series as I have done is my recommendation.. but if you really like the "ah hah" moments.. ... moreREAD.
review 2: I love the books and the TV show for Game of Thrones it's a awesome read and it takes me a while to read it I like that I won't finish it in a day or so. People complain about all the erotic or horrible things done to the characters, but that's what makes it great George R.R. Martin paints you a picture of the true nature of things if a world like this existed. Warning not for the light hearted. People real life isn't all roses and rainbows accept the fact that a lot of the things that have happened in this book have or were very likely to accour in real life minus the obvious fantasy stuff. If you want to read a book that sugar-coats every horrible thing this is not a book for you. For me personally it took a little bit of time to get into a steady pace with the book with the switching of character story points, but I got it and really enjoyed it. less
