review 1: Okay I'm gonna be mean so forgive me in advance :) I'm no author an I don't mean to judge but WDH I'm gonna give my five cent comment ;) I didn't really enjoy this book .. I read the blurb an I really thought it would be a good book but ... Sadly I was mistaken I mean he still chose his job over her a million times over! What wife would be okay with that??? He even sent her on a date with a bad guy !!! WTH!!! Which husband does that to his wife that he loves sooo damn much!????? There are so many parts in this book where he proves he doesn't love her but she goes back like some desperate puppy when he throws her a bone :| ! I get that their country was important but that did not give him an excuse to treat her the way he did. Like she was jus a pawn in his game! An how the... more hell did she not get angry when he told her he was ordered to make their marriage work!!??? I mean WDF!!! That like meant he had to do it not of his own free will! Jus didn't fall in love with these characters ... Sorry to say but imagery wasn't all that grand when describing the characters I don't even remember what color eyes Ty the moron had!!!A lot of authors use imagery to make readers fall in love with the physical attributes to a character but sadly this one didn't.
review 2: meh with a bit of irritation.Ty was a selfish jerk and a bully. Treflee (which is the most ridiculous name I have ever come across... I kept reading it as tree flea and thought of bugs) was a mary sue who caved and pretty much regressed to a 50's stereotype of a woman. It the end it seems like Ty got everything he wanted with no compromise or change at all cuz he was a almighty and powerful government spy. Treflee gave in for *everything* and even agreed to change herself!?! even though she had a very valid reason and reasoning for wanting to get a divorce. This could have been a lot more engaging and fun but it fell flat pretty quickly. I couldn't empathize or engage with the main couple and was actively rooting for them to break it off. I was really looking forward to this book as the premise sound promising. About 71% in and about to through in the towel... ok.. now I'm done... Ty is being an *ss about something that was huge and important to Treflee and we are expected to be on his side!?!? DNF... less
