review 1: I always feel if I'm on a bullettrain when I read one of Gini Kochs Kitty Katt books. This just zips along and it only took me a day and a half to read. More Kitty and Martini taking on fuglies...this time it almost all takes place at the Kennedy Space Center. There are even alligators running amok and just what's going on with the A-Cs? Kitty gets up close and personal with Alpha Centurian marriage customs. And even has time to attend her tenth annual high school reunion. And in the meantime some very nasty pieces of work are after the intrepid Kitty and her beloved Jeff Martini.....and this time....they are humanPlease. Do yourself a favor and pick up "Touched by an Alien" the first book...Trust me..this book will be right behind! The best fun between the pages as I have ... morehad in an age!
review 2: This book almost got 5 stars from me, because I really loved it, but a few things held it back. For me, all the issues in this book revolved around the romance. There were some serious jealousy issues. And it really bothered me that many of the men Kitty met refused to accept "no" as an answer. They'd say stupid things like "I don't see a ring," which made me SO angry. If a woman says she isn't available, that's it. You accept her lack of interest. You don't nitpick her relationship status and act like she's a piece of property, still "available" because there's no "sold" sign slapped on. Honestly. And it also bothered me that Kitty didn't put her foot down. This is the sort of woman that will leap on the back of a 12 ft tall mutant, and you expect me to believe she won't tell a man to back the hell off?I realize the above paragraph made me sound like I didn't like the book, and you're probably wondering why I gave it four stars. The answer was, I still really enjoyed the novel despite its obviously flawed gender relations. Kitty was in her prime, kicking ass and taking names. While her apparent sexual attractiveness seems slightly unreal, it is a lot of fun to read about. I can see why the author did it- it's highly entertaining to image yourself in Kitty's place, a commander in a top secret organization and apparently stunning to boot. The A-C men in this book were just as drool-worthy as they were in the last one. Jeff almost lost me with his jealously issues, but he did eventually redeem himself. I wasn't expecting Kitty to get introduced to Jeff's parents so soon, and it was interesting to see if they were as bad as Jeff said they are. We also get to meet Chuckie, the infamous best friend, and see why Jeff is apparently so threatened by his presence. Reader is as hilarious as ever, but I often found myself getting confused when the author switched between his first and last names. I'm not sure why.The author also cranked out another fun mystery. What I love about her style is that there are bad guys identified from the get go. They're really easy to spot...so you think you've got them all. Then, at the last minute, there's always some extra enemy or detail you missed that changes the picture completely. I like how the author uses really obvious clues to lead you away from the more subtle ones. More important developments in this novel revolve around A-C relations and Kitty's personal life. Some moments struck me as unnecessarily melodramatic but I believe everything worked out for the best. I've already started the next one! less
