review 1: The chapters are short and readable. No overload on dry intricate facts, but it could whet you appetite for a more thorough look at a incident that interests you. (Remember those excepts from Lit class. If you liked the excerpt you might pick up the book or did that just work on me.) There was one chapter that I just couldn't get into, but I enjoyed the rest. I think the idea is that if you present history in a readable manner more people might want to read it. That was always been my personal bugaboo about history and biographies. Write to capture the imagination and enjoy(gasp!)the richness of the events and people that made history and the kids and adults will come back for more.
review 2: What a read! I almost could not put it down. I love when truth is
... moretold without worrying about being politically correct or "hurting feelings". History is history, get over it! If those who publish "history" books LIE about what happened...what good does it do? Does it change what happened? No.The story that surprised me most was about Edison. What other heroes were not so heroic? This book makes me want to keep searching. less

I enjoyed this little book. It was a sort of a "rest of the story" type nook.
