review 1: Via NetGalleys A good thriller with all the ingredients: an ancient mystery that travels down through the ages, the Secret Vatican Archives, and a mysterious race that co-exists with humans. Christopher Marlowe, and new Popes also figure in this fast-paced tale. I especially enjoyed the main character Elisabetta. While she has help from her family to solve the mystery she eludes the bad guys on her own. Not exactly what I would expect from a member of a religious order. Parts of this tale were preposterous, but it certainly made for a good read around Halloween.
review 2: Non sono una grande fan di Glenn Cooper (la biblioteca dei morti non mi era piaciuto) ma su consiglio di un amico gli ho dato un'altra possibilità. Non mi sono purtroppo ricreduta: ho t... morerovato la trama mezzo copiata da Angeli e demoni e i colpi di scena non mi hanno sorpreso più di tanto. I personaggi mi sono sembrati un po' piatti, completamente buoni o cattivi per tutta la durata della storia, inoltre i cattivi vengono sconfitti molto (troppo) facilmente. Ultima nota che a me non ha entusiasmato, ma per gusti personali, è stata la scelta di introdurre numerosi personaggi storici e di modificarli in funzione della trama..una delusione! less
