review 1: Being a huge fan of "Young Victoria" and other things I could learn of Victoria meeting and marrying Albert, I loved this little glimpse of their married life and Albert trying to do something to please his wife. Very cute and fun in the illustrations. And I like the historical note in the back that said he really did build her one. The rhyming was fun, especially some of the things they came up with in order to rhyme. Not quite storytime for me, unless for school-age.
review 2: Delightful. But I'm prejudiced as I can't get enough of Victorian bathing machines. In Alice's Adventure in Wonderland there is a quick aside about them and so I always like to stop to tell the kids just what they are and why the existed. A couple of die-harder Lewis Carroll Society m... moreembers self-published an adorable book featuring their collection of bathing machine ephemera. And so this was just adorable. I liked both text and art. Great fun! less
