review 1: Another compelling and thought provoking story with sufficient twists and turns to keep you on edge of your seat and wanting to keep those pages turning. Thoroughly enjoyed the writing style in particular the way characters both minor and major are introduced and developed. Makes me feel like I know them and want to be part of their world. There are several sections thought the book dealing with rather confronting depression. Though dark and troublesome I found them thought provoking and challenging. Once again my thanks to the author for another great piece of work.
review 2: Another great story from Gordon Ferris. True to form Brodie starts off helping someone in trouble, gets himself in all sorts of trouble, worries about whether he is doing the right thing
... more , does it anyway and all works out well in the end, for the most part. This book saw Brodie being re-enlisted into the army, against his will initially, being involved once again in war crimes trials against staff of the German concentration camps, getting no further forward in his relationship with Sam, renewing one old acquaintance and losing another and managing to get on the wrong side of a lot of people along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to Brodie no 4 due out in April 2014. less
