review 1: *** 3.5 stars ***Nothing particularly remarkable, just a solid, well-written fantasy romance. Beginning is rather slow but builds and captivates, much like the relationship of Silhara and Martise. The ending was predictable but still satisfying. This was not one born of "insta-love," allowing for deeper bonds and more complexity. I would be interested to see what else this author has to offer.
review 2: Finally I can actually UNDERSTAND why the guy likes the heroine. Most often in Paranormal Romance you have these kickass heroines that are so arrogant and nasty that it is difficult to believe any man would put up with them for a minute. ... moreet KNOW that guys( and women) hate it when their partner constantly argues. She actually tries to make him feel better about himself, and goes about it in a sensible way. However, he is not that likable. Why she likes him is more off. I suppose that she really doesn't have much choice, as the only attractive thing about her is her voice. She is supposed to be very intelligent, but her intellect doesn't translate past books. I skipped the sex parts. they were just way too graphic. All in all…it was hit and miss. The world building was extremely weak. less
